Answer
Short answer:
No, you cannot select a specific aspect ratio setting directly within the video generation tool. The video output automatically inherits the exact aspect ratio and dimensions of the base image you use as the input.
Overview
Rendair AI handles video generation through an image-to-video workflow. This means the system takes a static rendering or upload and animates it to create a short clip. Because the animation is built directly upon the source image, the platform maintains the original composition and framing. Consequently, the shape of your final video is determined entirely by the shape of the image you choose to animate.
How to control video aspect ratio
Since the video tool mirrors the input, you control the output format by managing your base image before generating the video.
Define the ratio early: If you generate the base image using Text-to-Image, select your desired ratio (1:1, 2:3, 4:5, or 16:9) during that initial step.
Prepare external uploads: If you are uploading a specific view or screenshot to animate, crop or resize it to your target aspect ratio (such as 16:9 for presentations or 9:16 for social media) before uploading it to Rendair.
Generate the video: Select the prepared image and run the video generation tool. The resulting 5-second animation will match the input's dimensions exactly.
Capabilities
The aspect ratio of your video depends on the source material you provide.
Standard Widescreen (16:9): Ideal for client presentations and desktop viewing. Achieved by using a 16:9 base render.
Portrait / Vertical (4:5 or 2:3): Suitable for mobile viewing and social media stories. Achieved by using a vertical base render.
Square (1:1): Useful for Instagram feeds or grid layouts. Achieved by using a square base render.
Custom Ratios: If you upload a custom image with unique dimensions (e.g., an ultra-wide panoramic crop), the generated video will respect those dimensions without automatic cropping.
Inputs and outputs
Inputs
Static images generated within Rendair (Text-to-Image, Sketch-to-Image).
Uploaded images (JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC).
Outputs
Short animation (typically 5 seconds).
Format matches the pixel dimensions and aspect ratio of the input file.
Limitations or notes
No internal cropping: The video tool does not currently offer a crop feature during the generation process. All framing decisions must be made on the static image first.
Resolution: The video resolution is tied to the input image resolution. For higher quality videos, ensure your base image is upscaled or high-resolution before animating.
Credit usage: Video actions consume credits immediately and do not use a queue system.
