Which model should I choose?
Start with the default model in each tool. It is chosen for that job. Switch when you want something different: a faster model for quick exploring, a more capable one for detailed edits or complex prompts. You can test the same input with two models and compare. Costs differ by model, so explore cheaply first.

You do not have to choose a model to get a good result. Every tool has a default model picked for that job. Change it when you have a reason to.
A simple way to choose
You want to | Try |
|---|---|
Explore ideas quickly and cheaply | Rendair v2 at low resolution, or a fast model such as Nano Banana |
Follow a long, detailed description | GPT Image |
Get realistic light and material detail | Nano Banana Pro or Nano Banana 2 |
Edit, remove, extend or stage an image | Rendair Edit v2 |
Make an image larger and sharper | Rendair Upscale |
Create a short video | Kling V3 |
Build a 3D model | Astra for detail, Trellis for a fast, low-cost object |
Compare with the same input
If you are unsure, run the same input and description with two models and compare the results. Every model has its own look.
Keep an eye on credits
Models cost different amounts, and higher resolutions cost more. Explore with a lower-cost setting, then run the final version once with the model you prefer. Failed generations return your credits automatically.
