Revit massing to AI render, text prompt to video by Balkan Architect

Balkan Architect pairs Revit with Rendair at each design stage: a text concept, a massing render, a detailed model render, a winter variation, an edit, 4K and video.

Balkan Architect, a Revit educator, shows how he uses Rendair alongside Revit to brainstorm and visualize at each stage of a design, when deadlines are tight. The brief is a four-story office building with a glass and stone facade, trees and parking. He moves from a pure text idea to a massing model, then to a more developed hidden-line view, so you can see how the AI output tracks the design as it matures.

What you'll see

  1. He opens the community gallery, now called Explore, to see what other users have made.
  2. In Text to Render he picks a realistic style, describes the building and adds keywords for view, style, materials and light. He asks for four options and picks one as inspiration.
  3. In Sketch to Render he uploads a simple Revit massing image, raises image strength to keep proportions, and adds the inspiration image as a reference from his previous creations.
  4. He uses the compare slider to check how closely the render follows his massing lines.
  5. In the app then called 3D base to render, he uploads a hidden-line view of the more developed Revit model with the same prompt and his favorite render as the reference.
  6. In Render Variation he applies a winter preset, which rewrites the prompt for him, and removes the reference so it does not fight the snow.
  7. He uses Select and Modify, brushing an area beside the building and asking for a red car to add some color.
  8. He upscales to 4x with the option that keeps people looking natural, then checks the detail on his own screen.
  9. In Image to Video he crops the final image, adds motion presets for a wide shot zoom and a pan, and generates a short clip.

Takeaways

  • He recommends generating several options at once, because picking from four is easier than prompting again.
  • He uses earlier outputs as reference images to carry a look through each stage of the design.
  • He found the video added a believable view of the back of the building, and sees clips like this as an extra client deliverable.
  • He notes the upscale option for people is worth turning on when figures can look odd after enhancement.

Recreate this with Text to Render for a concept, Sketch to Render or 3D Model to Render on your Revit views, Render Variation for seasons, then Upscale and Image to Video.

Recorded with an earlier version of Rendair, so some screens and app names look different today.
