Credit Costs

Answer

Short answer:

Most standard generation tasks in Rendair AI cost 1 credit per image. More computationally intensive tasks require more credits: Upscaling 2K costs 5 credits, and Video Generation costs 25 credits. The exact cost is always calculated and displayed in the interface before you confirm an action.

Overview

Rendair AI operates on a flexible credit system designed to let you mix and match different tools without being locked into a specific workflow. Instead of having separate quotas for "images" or "videos," you have a single pool of credits that can be spent on any tool.

This system ensures that you only pay for the computing power you actually use. Whether you are doing hundreds of quick iterations or a few high-resolution final presentations, the credit consumption scales with the complexity of the task.

Credit Cost Breakdown

While costs can vary slightly based on specific settings or model updates, the standard consumption rates for the core tools are as follows:

1. Standard Generation (1 Credit)

The base cost for generating a new image is 1 credit. This applies to the majority of the "Create" workflows:

  • Text-to-Image: Generating a visual from a prompt.

  • Sketch-to-Render: Converting a hand-drawn sketch into a realistic image.

  • 3D-to-Image: Rendering a screenshot or clay model.

  • Image-to-Image: Creating variations of an existing upload.

2. Editing and Modification (1 Credit)

Refining an image using the editing suite generally incurs the same cost as a standard generation:

  • Inpainting: Selecting an area to change (e.g., changing a sofa or adding a person).

  • Style Transfer: Applying a reference style to a base image.

3. Upscaling (5-40 Credits)

Upscaling is a more intensive process that increases the pixel density and detail of an image (commonly to 4K or higher). Because this requires significant processing power to hallucinate realistic details without losing the original design intent, it costs 5 credits-40 credits per action depending on the upscale size.

4. Video Generation (25-50 Credits)

Creating an animation from a still image is the most computationally demanding task. It involves generating multiple frames that maintain temporal consistency. Consequently, generating a standard short video clip costs 25-50 credits.

Plan Context

To help you estimate your monthly capacity, here is how the credit allowances translate into actual work for the different subscription tiers:

  • Student Plan (250 Credits/mo): Enough for 250 standard renders, or 50 upscales, or 12 videos.

  • Creator Plan (500 Credits/mo): Enough for 500 standard renders, or 100 upscales, or 25 videos.

  • Pro Plan (1500 Credits/mo): Enough for 1500 standard renders, or 300 upscales, or 75 videos.

  • Team Pro Plan (7500 Credits/mo): Enough for 7500 standard renders, or 1500 upscales, or 375 videos.

Note: Most users mix these actions. For example, a Pro user might generate 1000 iterations, upscale the best 50 results, and create 10 videos for a client presentation.

When to use high-cost tools

Since credits are a finite resource, it is helpful to know when to invest in higher-cost actions:

  • Use Standard Generation (1 Credit) for the early concept phase. Iterate rapidly on prompts, camera angles, and lighting until the composition is right. Do not upscale images that are just for internal review.

  • Use Upscaling (5-40 Credits) only for the "final candidates." Once you have selected the best 3–5 options from your iterations, upscale them for client presentations or marketing materials to ensure textures look crisp on large screens.

  • Use Video (25-50 Credits) for the final storytelling phase. Video is best used to bring a static "hero shot" to life (e.g., adding moving water, swaying trees, or walking people) to increase engagement on social media or in final client decks.

Limitations or notes

  • Active Subscription Required: Credits do not expire as long as you have an active subscription. However, if you cancel your plan, any unused accumulated credits are lost at the end of the billing cycle.

  • Cost Visibility: The platform is transparent about usage. You will always see the credit cost next to the "Generate" button before you commit to the action.

  • Failed Generations: If a system error occurs and an image fails to generate, credits are typically not deducted or are refunded automatically. If you experience a failure where credits were consumed, support can assist.
