Change the weather in architectural renders

Show the same design in sunny, cloudy, rainy, foggy, snowy or stormy conditions without rebuilding the image.

Melisa RüzgarTutorial Videos

Sometimes you have the render you want, but the weather is not right. The project might work better on a bright summer day, or you want to see it in rain, snow or an overcast setting. Change Weather keeps the existing design and changes only the weather and atmosphere around it.

Steps

  1. Open Change Weather and add your image. Upload a render directly or bring in one of your previous generations.
  2. Pick a weather condition. There is no prompt box in this app. Instead, choose from a set of icons: sunny, cloudy, rainy, foggy, snowy or stormy.
  3. Generate and review the result.
  4. Generate again if needed. If the first result is not quite right, generate again to see other options.
  5. Continue your workflow. Once you have the weather you like, take the result into other Rendair apps to change the time of day, add people, adjust materials or upscale the final image.

Tips

  • Use the same base render for every weather option so the set is easy to compare.
  • Weather changes the mood of a project a lot, so try a few conditions before choosing one.
  • Change Weather works best once the design itself is settled.

What to do next

Combine weather with Change Time of Day or Change Season to build a range of atmospheres for your presentation, then finish with Upscale and Enhance.
