Photographic content at typical settings. Flat renders with large plain areas compress smaller, noisy ones larger.

Choosing a format for the job

JPEG at high quality is the sharing format: small, universal, good enough for a client to open on a phone. WebP is smaller still and fine on the web, less so in print shops and older software.

PNG keeps transparency and every pixel, at many times the size, so it suits cut outs and diagrams more than photographs. TIFF is the print shop's format, uncompressed and large.

Sizes here are typical for photographic content. A render with large flat areas compresses smaller, a noisy one larger. When the file will not fit an email, a board link in Rendair shares the full resolution with no attachment at all.
