Turn designs into physical model images
Reinterpret a render, sketch or 3D model as a physical architectural model in styles like cardboard, clay, wood or 3D printed.
Melisa RüzgarTutorial VideosDesign to Maquette turns an architectural render, concept or sketch into an image that looks like a physical model. It is a useful way to see a project from a different perspective and compare what each representation communicates.
Steps
- Open Design to Maquette and upload your image. You can use a finished render, an early concept or a simple sketch, or choose from your previous generations. You can also use a 3D model as the base.
- Write a prompt. Keep it simple and let Rendair interpret your design, or be specific about the material, scale, setting and presentation.
- Pick a style. Choose from options like Cardboard, 3D Printed, Concrete, Clay, Paper, Miniature, Metal, Wood or Glass.
- Adjust Advanced Settings if needed, for example the aspect ratio.
- Choose the number of generations and click Generate.
- Compare styles. Start with Cardboard for a simple study model, then switch to 3D Printed or Concrete to see how the character of the model changes, without rewriting your prompt.
- Refine. If the result is not right, change the style, adjust the prompt or try another material and generate again.
Tips
- Clients sometimes find a model photograph easier to understand than a digital 3D view.
- Place a polished render next to a conceptual maquette of the same design to compare what each one communicates.
- Use the styles to explore materials quickly and the prompt for setting and presentation.
