Extend the frame of an architectural render

Add more space around your render, such as landscape, sky or facade, without recreating the original image.

Sometimes a render looks great but the framing is too tight. You might need more space around the building, more of the landscape or a wider composition for a presentation. Extend Image expands the frame while keeping the existing design and visual style consistent.

Steps

  1. Open Extend Image and bring in the image you want to work with.
  2. Decide which direction to extend. Choose where you want more space around the original frame.
  3. Describe what should appear in the new area. Use the prompt to guide the extension, for example continuing the surrounding landscape, extending the facade, adding more sky or expanding the interior around the existing composition.
  4. Generate. Rendair uses what is already in the image as a reference and builds outward from it, rather than recreating the whole render.
  5. Refine until it fits. If the result is not quite right, adjust the prompt and try again until the new area feels like it was always part of the original.
  6. Keep developing the image. Once you have the composition you want, take it into another Rendair app to continue.

Tips

  • Extend Image is useful when you realize your original crop is not right for a layout or presentation.
  • Turn a tight architectural shot into a wider presentation image by extending to both sides.
  • Be specific about what belongs in the new area so it matches the rest of the scene.

What to do next

Use Populate Render to add people to the newly extended space, or Upscale and Enhance to prepare the wider image for print.
