Upscale and enhance architectural renders

Increase resolution and sharpen details on your final render using scale factor and image strength settings.

You finally get the render you want, then you zoom in and notice the details are not as sharp as you would like, especially for a presentation or print. Upscale and Enhance increases the resolution and gives fine details more definition.

Steps

  1. Open Upscale and Enhance and bring in the image you want to improve.
  2. Choose the scale factor. Pick how much you want to increase the resolution. A larger output is useful when you need to work with the image at a bigger size.
  3. Set the image strength. This controls how much Rendair can alter the original image. Higher strength gives details like facade material variation, landscaping or small interior elements more definition. Many people find around 80% works well.
  4. Generate and review the result.
  5. Use your final image. Take it into a presentation, add it to a board, share it with a client or share it to Explore.

When to upscale

Think of upscaling as one of the last steps in your workflow. Get the design right first, make your edits, and once you are happy with the final direction, bring it into Upscale and Enhance.

Tips

  • You do not need to upscale every generation. While you are still experimenting, wait until you have found the version you want to keep. This saves both credits and time.
  • Images with lots of fine detail benefit most from a higher image strength.
  • If the result changes more than you want, lower the image strength and try again.

What to do next

Animate your final render with Image to Video, or add it to a board to share with your team and clients.
